§ 01 — About

A scholar of resilient mobility

I am an Incoming Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Terre Haute, Indiana, joining in August 2026. I expect to complete my Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at the University of Oklahoma in June 2026, where I work under Dr. Arif Mohaimin Sadri at the Transportation, Risk, and Information Commons (TRICS) Lab.

My research examines how transportation systems can be made more resilient, equitable, and sustainable through rigorous, data-driven engineering. My work spans four interconnected areas: traffic safety, network resilience, electric vehicle infrastructure, and social-media analytics for crisis response. I apply machine learning, large-scale data analytics, and system optimization to understand how natural hazards reshape transportation networks and how to plan equitable EV charging infrastructure.

I have served as Co-PI on two funded projects: an NSF EPSCoR S³OK seed grant on socially sustainable electrified transportation infrastructure for Oklahoma, and a Southern Plains Transportation Center (SPTC) grant on developing a sustainable business case for EV charging infrastructure in rural Oklahoma. My work has appeared in Transportation Research Part D, Accident Analysis & Prevention, IEEE Transactions on Big Data, Transportation Research Record, Expert Systems with Applications, and Construction and Building Materials, among others. My scholarly record also includes two U.S. provisional patents and a Springer book chapter.

Beyond research, I bring strong teaching credentials: several years as a Senior Lecturer at Daffodil International University in Bangladesh, and graduate teaching at OU across CEES 3883: Transportation Engineering, CEES 4883: Traffic Analysis, Design & Control, and CEES 5020: AI in Civil Engineering. I was awarded the competitive Dolese Teaching Fellowship to integrate AI into the Traffic Analysis curriculum and to develop a new graduate course.

I hold a Graduate Certificate in Data Science and Analytics from the University of Oklahoma, an M.Sc. in Transportation Engineering from BUET, and a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from BUET. I am also an Engineer-in-Training (EIT), having passed the NCEES Fundamentals of Engineering exam.

At Rose-Hulman, I will teach transportation engineering and traffic analysis through project-based courses that work with real infrastructure data, place students in the role of practicing engineers, and draw direct connections between fundamental theory and contemporary design problems. I welcome conversations with prospective students, collaborators, and others interested in this work.

§ 02 — Research

Four research areas, one commitment

My work weaves together engineering, network science, and social signals to make transportation systems safer, more sustainable, and more equitable in the face of compounding hazards.

01

Traffic Safety & Crash Analysis

Modeling collisions, pedestrian behavior, and design–system interactions in low- and high-income urban environments.

02

Electric Vehicle Infrastructure

Multi-criteria decision frameworks for siting EV charging stations, with attention to spatial equity and rural access.

03

Network Science & Resilience

Topological analysis of road networks under compounding hazards — wildfires, ice storms, hurricanes, COVID-19.

04

Social Media for Crisis Response

Mining online discourse to detect risk-communication patterns and behavioral response during disasters.

§ 03 — Resume

A career in motion

My background brings together transportation engineering, data science, and system optimization across academia, research, and industry.
